Musings and Poetry Buds to Blossom and Bloom

As abundantly as I pour words of kindness and affirmation into her cup, it seems I'm less inclined to serve myself the same helping. This must change as she looks to me for instruction on how to serve herself and others.

I often wonder if we have outlived our revolutionaries and are now left to siphon the last wisps of profundity through bent and broken straws.

12/30/23

You were once a flutter

Of a thought, a wish, a dream.

4/25/23

Every day that passes without you yet in my belly is one day closer to the day when you’ll be in my arms.

3/30/23

“My sins are all I have left,” she whispered.

And so into the darkness she fell,

her body floating, melting, fading;

a never-ending well

that swallowed her whole, unyielding.

As she missed those frail, translucent cheeks, she thought, “And in God’s great cruelty do I see the beauty.”

Not yet having stepped foot in Ireland, I’ve learned how very resilient the soul truly is; to survive feeling so deeply the joy, the heartache, the longing, and to still want to FEEL, is to be Irish.

2/5/23

A grief so great, its vengeance would be felt for generations to come, waiting in the shadowy corners of each new bloodline..

10/11/21

A Motivational Limerick (sans humorous indecency)

No matter how down and out you get,

Never be too jaded to forget

That your frustrations

Are machinations

To sharpen and better your skillset.

To strengthen you've ever met

That you've gotten this far

With some bruises and scars

But regret you bet

That life's a bitch,

Whether poor or rich,

To The One Whose Kisses Melt Me

Time bears no hold upon a love like this

For which the hands will freeze for days on end,

And the tides will wait with baited breath,

While the sun forgets to rise and set.

I’ll continue to melt into you.

When the world itself will cease to exist,

Without a single hour to spare and spend

On musing over its life and death,

Or anything else that came and left.

I’ll continue to melt into you.

If all we have each other’s last kiss,

How fortunate for a lover and friend,

Whose riches lie not within one’s wealth,

But in the promises they have kept.

I’ll continue to melt into you.

Time bears no hold upon a love like ours

For which the hands will freeze for days on end.

1/1/20

I miss you so, whoever you are,

Wherever you are,

Whenever you'll be.

12/17/19

How i miss the one I've yet to meet,

Whose lips will surely kiss me sweet;

For whom my heart skips a beat.

How i ache with tears I've yet to shed,

O'er longing for the day we'll wed,

Depression is nihilism with the guilt trip and know outlet

7/10/19

We muse upon each other,

without pretense or guise,

And imagine ways the future

Is our modern day surprise.

6/4/19

You weather the storms of others, while surviving those that wreak havoc within.

To imagine the future is to work against Time.

Trauma upon tragedy

I don’t think I have much else to say,

Nothing new or interesting to brighten up your day,

Other than I’ve figured out

That I love you.

How I wish I’d handled everything better,

Without making a mess of this chaotic weather.

5/13/19

I wish the world would stop, sometimes,

And let me breathe, just simply let me breathe..

Because no matter how hard I try,

I can’t inhale at this speed,

I can’t catch the air I need.

My lungs are clawing through my ribs,

And oh how they burn,

Oh how they yearn.

---

All I know in this very moment,

Of great uncertainty and fear,

Is that I've fallen in love with you,

Irrevocably so, my dear.

But, darling, it goes without saying,

Love carries a double edged sword,

Made from our own pleasure and pain;

the only peace one can afford.

To love is to understand great risk,

a chance at the impossible.

Thus it teaches one true bravery,

to fight until their heart is full.

So if the Universe conspires,

and God and His angels agree,

I promise I'll find you in the end,

and I'll bring you back home with me.

That feeling of calling out to your beloved by name.. like leaving a kiss upon your lips without ever having touched them.

5/10/19

I want to tell you so badly that I love you. But I think your soul already knows it on whatever level souls communicate. I think part of this weight I feel building up is the yearning and urgency in which I want to tell you how much I love you, to say those words, those special meaningful words, and to show you, that's the honor I crave most. To show you my love.

5/7/19

If what is meant is with certainty, then surely, ‘tis certain it is meant to be.

5/01/19

With fearful hands that shake,

We must pull aside the drapes,

And face the monsters we have made,

For Vulnerability’s sake.

(Reading the Alchemist)

Bad ideas have no prejudice towards us, as we're all equally susceptible, but luckily for us, neither do good ideas.

4/21

I feel like the theme of the book I'd mentioned before, One Hundred Years of Solitude, (or 100 Years of YOU, which actually sounds like a century of fun and enlightenment!) would be a great example of that exact cycle, in which the death and destruction of a social construct (religion) creates the necessary conditions to conceive, incubate and bear a new bastard diety borne only for consumption, to fuel a naturally combative species, set with the intention of self-fulfillment until spontaneous combustion occurs.  Now, I say ‘spontaneous’ because we are never fully aware of the truest reasons behind these violent explosions, and were we to gain an inkling of confirmation, I highly doubt we are even equipped with the tools required to process and accept the knowledge in its rawest form, which I believe to be our basest nature: Savagery (in all aspects).

4/23

Spoiled, minus the rot.

4/17

Although responsibility lies in all parties, it first rests on the shoulders of those who came before us, from whom we learn.

4/12

I think you're right, because the Social Chameleon is borne out of necessity for personal survival. Yeah, that One Eyed, One Horned Flying Purple People Pleaser can be a real monster if you don't know how to master it.  (I hope you get that reference, else it flops, although it might be a Candian childhood thing?...)  I wonder sometimes if the struggle that comes with it is due to our innate need for balance more so than acceptance or if it's because we confuse the desire for external confirmation as being integral to internal normalcy.

4/15

Could the concept of common courtesy and consideration create concern and consequential campaigns for continuous construction on the characteristics of communal quality?

From Jake's letter: Floating in the Stardust

3/30/19

Message to Jake:

You attempted a civilized conversational learning session, for the benefit of both parties, and having survived the consequential awkwardness in which the sceptic took his initial steps to figure things out for himself instead of regurgitating propaganda, YOU SUCCEEDED!! So huzzah! I mean, yeah we usually do well to gauge the conditions of the conversation,  but if the temperature feels even a tad warm, why not test those waters? And the goal I think is never to really change the person's mind on their view of the representative, but rather to provide them with more tools and factual information to encourage their utilization of logic, more so than their usually misguided feelings, on the critical issues at hand. And it ought to be said:  Job well done, sir!

I want to leave a bit of myself on this earth.
